Готовый перевод Парфенон / The Parthenon: Текст
At the top of the hill is the building, which since the 17th century serves as the epitome of artistry in the western architecture.
This construction is exactly what has made Greek architecture the most perfect specimen of the ancient Europe art.
In the past this building served as the inspiration for the masters of architecture and town-planning.
Many people believed that this is where to be found the origins of modern architecture, evoked in people the inspiration of the gods.
Many of the famous artists and architects came here to see the building.
Parthenon was built around 430 BC by Pericles, the ruler of Athenes.
The giant statue of the goddess Athena, patroness of the city, was located here.
This place fell into desolation in the period of (during the) decadence of the Ancient Greece.
The building itself was seriously damages in the 17th century during the Venitian crusade (campaign).
But even in ruins this building is able to inspire any architect.
The building of Parthenon is built of marble, covered with carving and bas-reliefs.
Simple shapes combined with an amazing grace.
There's no arches, artificial niches and domes.
In its simplicity, the Parthenon can compete only with megaliths of Stonehenge.
Its architecture even seem to be a bit poor.
Why did I choose this place? The question (point) is in the deep hidden (secret) meaning of the building.
It serves as the living picture of the faded civilization's bygone greatness.
Its beauty has inspired many concepts of heroism and tragedy of illusions, defeated by the time.
There is nothing surprising in the fact that the poet - romantic Byron loved this place.
But times are changing.
Today, the Parthenon looks more like a building site.
We are now by the main entrance to the Parthenon, through which in ancient times people came to pay homage to the patroness of the city, to the goddess Athena.
It is almost imposible to imagine how it was: now there are building works in full swing.
Where a large statue of the goddess Athena was , now is the construction crane.
Reconstruction of the temple continues 25 years, excluding restoration works since the middle twenties.
And it is possible that they will take a lot of time.
It must be noted that soon the building itself, and the entire surrounding area will be a mix of the old and the new.
New marble is mined in the same quarry, but it looks quite different.
How will it look like? What if a mix of styles will appear and the building will lose its beauty? It seems that nobody here does not share my fears.
I'm afraid that the restoration works would destroy the formed impression of this building.
Buildings such as the Parthenon, with the highest architectural value to all humanity, must be maintained for future generations.
But the architects of thsi project intended to do something greater.
It seems to me that the Parthenon is part of the policy.
They want to make a symbol of the new revival Greece from it.
And it cannot but confuse and suggest sad ideas to people (disturb the peace of mind).
