AMADA Bandsaw Blades
AXCELA Basic Information
Page
Dear Partners of AMADA Machine Tools Europe !
During 2012 AMADA renewed the LineUp for Carbide Tipped Blades. From now all Carbide Tipped Blades will have a new name starting with the word AXCELA.
For some old time users of the AMADA blades the new naming is very confusing. The old structure with CTB, BCTB-3, BCTB-4, ACTB and so on is not longer used.
But on the other hand the new naming following strict rules and after short time you will be able to talk perfect „AXCELA“.
If something is not clear and you need support don´t hesitate to contact me at utz.fehlau@amadamachinetools.de
Sincerely
Yours Utz Fehlau

Tradition and Future
AMADA has a tradition of over 50 years producing band saw blades. The famous ONO factory was build 1963. Until today this factory is one of the leading development centers for bandsaw blades. Together with the AMADA bandsaw machine developers our engineers develop the most advanced bandsaw blades ever.
More then 40 years ago AMADA developed the first carbide tipped bandsaw blade. According to the AMADA motto – „Growing together with our customers” – we are developing permanent new solutions for our customers. The success of our solutions is the reason that AMADA today operates three factories for bandsaw blades worldwide. For the european market the bandsaw blades are produced at the Austrian factory at Ternitz/Niederösterreich.
Founded 1986 this factory is responsible for the bimetall and carbide tipped blade supply of europe. Together with our transport partners we can deliver blades to every point of europe within shortest time.

This shows you that this is an original AMADA bandsaw blade.
The first character –
This character explains the main purpose of this blade.
S = Standard, A = Aluminium,
G = General steel , H = Hard to cut
The third character –
This character informs about the tooth design of the blade
B = Bachi = all teeth symetric
C = Combi = mix of symetric and asymetric teeth
V = Variable = same as combi

This number informs about the type of coating.
1 = uncoated, 2 = gold , 3 = purple , 4 = black
The tooth pitch –
This show the tooth pitch of the
blade.

The first character
The first character describe the main purpose of the blade.
G = General use for steel
H = Hard to cut material
A = Aluminium and his alloys
S = Standard use
The second and fifth character
This characters are used during production and are important for the internal stock and handling. They don´t describe any technical details. This characters can change without notice.

The third character
This characters describe the shape of the tooth.
B = Bachi Type and
All teeth are symetric

The fourth character
The fourth character describe the number of teeth in a group.
Basic is the japanese number system.
Ni = 2 2 2 tooth per pattern
San = 3 tooth per pattern
Yon = 4 tooth per pattern
Go = 5 tooth per pattern
Roku = 6 tooth per pattern
Example: 4 teeth pattern = Y
(look on the different chip shape)

The number
The numbers describe if there is a choating and if yes what type of coating.
1 = uncoated ( ~ HV 1600 and > )
2
= gold TiN coated (~ HV 2300)
3 = purple TiAlN coated (~ HV 2800)
4 = black AlTiN coated (~ HV 3000)

The tooth pitch
The tooth pitch is used in the same way as on bimetall blades. At the 2/3 and 3/4 tooth pitch the basic design changed. The distance between some teeth is bigger then normal. This based on a AMADA patent. Our developer get with this design much better result then with the traditional design.
