The action takes place on the planet, called Dagerion, where people were transferred by some unknown force. Dagerion is a world broken into myriad islands where states since time immemorial fight to rule the seas. The events described in this book begin in the year 1938 by local chronology. 25 years passed since the end of the Great Northern War between the Kzal-Rhiumian Empire and the Shogunate of Aghinarra and Janghar. The Empire achieved a decisive victory and the Aghinarrians had to withdraw forces back to their islands. But suddenly peaceful life of the Empire was interrupted by an uprise on the Western borders, instigated by Kzal-Rhiumian rivals. And now Prince Davial Carrel, commander of the Western Imperial Squadron, is to face much more numerous enemy forces.
