Elves: Tits and Other Trivia
* * *
Q: Is there a difference in the development of humans and elves?
A: The trick is that elves often have a higher threshold of free stats and a very long life. It's also easier for them to get cool classes. Plus the experience of many generations, a well-honed system of training youngsters, and strong mutual support (albeit with a lot of intrigue and setups) in the face of mortal danger.
They very often reach impressive levels. That is, to meet the first-level elf outside their forests is impossible as a rule. They just won't let them go anywhere.
They are all high-level compared to the gray mass of humans. But with levels 50+, it's complicated. There their elite, if they are superior to ordinary humans, is not very much.
At these ranks, age means little - you have to go regularly, as if for work, to such hells where it is easier to lose your head than to drink a beer.
And elves, despite their strength and natural abilities, are very precious about their eternal life. And there are few of them, and the birth rate is fucked. So it turns out that the extremely high average level of elves is leveled by the number of other races and the presence among them REAL elite.
Elves have very few 50+ level fighters, and almost all of them are Summoned. In fact, elves are one of the biggest fans of summoning a servant. The consequence is that they have expensive reagents growing under their feet, so they use them. In return, elves rarely sacrifice Heroes, considering it immoral. To sew a piece of someone else's soul onto themselves.
They sell their servants sometimes, but seldom, preferring to keep their weapons to themselves. And there are few buyers. The ones who can afford it will summon it themselves, and who knows what the elves in the summoner's head have managed to twist.
Something like that.
They need more experience, but with their lifespan, it's nothing. But the constant risk and the need to fight creatures that can eat the very soul (high-level monsters very often know how to do this) do not give them the rule of the universe.
An elf between death but victory and retreat without profit will always prefer retreat. Elven honor means a lot, of course, but only among other elves. They don't care about the opinion of humans/dwarves/whatever.
They have a 30+ level upgrade system. For a lot of classes. So they have a pumping machine, they have it.
It's just that above the mentioned 30+ everything becomes too individual and even the most comprehensive knowledge base can help at the very least, but no more than that. The rest is up to you.
Elves are monstrously strong individually. Seriously, as I've said many times before. Level 30+ is the minimum that these guys reach, simply because those who haven't reached it won't be allowed out of their woods. That said, a 30+ elf is more likely to beat a 30+ human of equal level and class, and won't lose to two.
But the super elite of humans and elves... It's almost the other way around.
What is a level 50+ elf?
This is a very long-lived individual with tremendous experience and skills. Exactly skills. Where a human would be great master at swords and heavy armor, this elf would be great master at spears, swords, bows, hand-to-hand combat, daggers, and a dozen other lines.
Does that make it stronger than a human being? More variable, yes. Gives it the ability to choose the right weapon, yes.
But the skill is the same, or even higher for a human. He has always worked with only one weapon, and therefore the skill may be higher.
An elf can afford to spend under two and a half decades mastering a new weapon. A human cannot.
Characteristics - elves have a standard cap of 25, compared to humans' 10. There are some individuals who are born with special titles, like "Genius" or "Great Dodger". Such individuals can have a limit of free development up to 40 points, or each point of dexterity will give two points if you put in free points at once.
But.
It is equally likely that such a unicum could be born both among humans and elves. But there are few elves and many humans - compare the odds.
Besides, human nobles with a good heredity and eugenic program can also have a cap of 25. Above that is extremely rare, but 25 happens. And Geniuses from birth, we remember them. Humans have more of them, for there is more population of humans.
Class Skills.
Some would say that over centuries of life, it's easier for elves to pump up abilities by free pumping, just like MC. I'll ask you to remember...at least the chapter where Kostya was almost dissolved by The Shadow, and before that by Dream, and before that by The Shadow. Do you see a pattern? After the primary pumping of the first rank, which also, I note, can be risky to health, such a pumping becomes even MORE DANGEROUS.
If you pump up by putting in points, the System does everything for you, preventing the Realm (Shadow, Dream, Sky, Edge, Void, Flame, Who-knows-what) from having a deadly effect. That is, you will feel something, which will allow you to reveal new facets of your power, but it will be calm and safe.
If you pump up without investing, then EVERY time will be a mortal risk, where your soul can be turned inside out and sewn back into something else. And that can still be considered luck!
Would a short-lived and adventurous man risk such a fate? Unlikely, but still possible. There's hardly anyone like Kostya with his stupid "economy" of improvement points, but some progress is being made, even if it stops after a certain point, beyond which it's dangerous to step.
Would an elf risk his soul?
No way.
And combat experience. An elf would not go into trouble without full confidence in the possibility of retreat. It is difficult to compare it with people who, because of their indifferent attitude to their own lives (in comparison, of course) are ready to go into the thick of it for the sake of rewards and benefits.
If elves have MULTIPLE times more experience fighting a normal enemy, then humans 50+ have much more experience in mortal danger. Even if their lethality is higher and their life is shorter. There are exceptions among the Eared Ones that would give a head start even to the worst risk-takers among humans, but these are isolated cases.
So it turns out that eared ones have a superiority in variation and life experience, but humans are still stronger both in terms of class pumping and the number of super-elites.
One-on-one humans 50+ will probably be stronger than an elf of the same level. It won't take out two, but one on one is stronger. On the other hand, elves are always overprotective, and before they rush into battle they will try to weaken the enemy and pick the perfect team to confront him. Several groups of mercenaries to exhaust, some cunning poison, artifacts, potions, and a team attack at last!
That's why they don't like elves because you won't see a "fair fight, chest to chest" from them unless you corner them. And that's not the only reason they're disliked.
Q: Long life and reason are good reasons for the most rampant hedonism.
A: They can give a lot of people a head start in terms of all kinds of kamasutras. It's just that humans and other short-eared people don't know that. But the morals there are quite liberal and they're quite relaxed about simple intimacy.
Q: And as for the real elves, their attitude to human males, I'm afraid, is much more adequately described in the same Avada story "The Last Adventure".
A: If you put this story on the world of "Uncalled," there are a few points that make a slight difference.
1. elves are non-confrontational to the max. A long life has taught them that the best fight is the one that didn't happen. They are the coolest diplomats in the world, preferring never to fight. Their favorite tactic is to make everyone fight with each other and take an observant position as an umpire.
They don't like to kill, that's true, but alas, it's the killing (and the targeted killing) that is their favorite method of solving conflicts that cannot be solved by diplomacy. Those who spill the blood of stars die.
Not because elves are evil (although the cutting off of eternity is one of those things that scares them to no end, forcing them to fight for their lives), but to leave a "don't mess with us" message.
All the stories about devious ways to deal with an abuser are the result of the big-eared ones being scared. And they make the others afraid of themselves, so that they themselves would not be so afraid.
2. Elves are proud. They have every reason to be - they have the longest life span and an extremely high MEDIUM level of the race (albeit with a small number of 50+ elites). They have extremely advanced sciences, they know how to educate and train their young, and all that.
A practice honed over the centuries to raise the level from 1 to 30. Half a hundred years and the recruit is ready. Plus the skills - without a master at weapons and/or bows, it's best not to even try to leave the forest. They won't let you out.
They are also snobs and racists. To them, people are monkeys with grenades. It's not even about appearances, it's about how easy it is for humans to kill their own fellow human beings. Compared to the rest of the inhabitants of Alurei, the elves aren't the biggest scoundrels. At least they value each other's lives, unlike humans.
An elf will kill another elf only in the most unbelievable cases. Even if his old enemy and rival get in trouble, he will forget everything and go to save him. Then embarrass him, put up a debt and all that, but will save his eternity
People kill each other for the sake of entertainment. This is confusing, causing instinctive rejection on all levels.
Hence the following. An elven girl, without a high-class slave-mancer treatment, will lie down with a human... Never. Unless under threat of death, or to save the life of a kindred... but humans don't take that risk.
For the elf herself, intercourse with a species of another race is an abomination. Even if she drugged herself to the tips of her ears with aphrodisiacs, it was still an abomination.
Unnaturalness.
Exceptions stomp a hundred iron boots, save each other's lives a hundred times, etc. Then the elf can accept the love of a human/dwarf/beastman/ABS. And in the most terminal cases, start to feel real respect and maybe even reciprocal love.
But you consider the rarity - at least because for the elf will be important her life, her benefit, her salvation. Then the lives of her kin, their benefit, and their salvation.
About slavemancers and other crap.
Again with regard to the situation of the elves and humans.
The idea in style of "set up the captivity of an elven girl, who, having become a slave to the right man, will make a slave of him". Well, it is possible in theory and only very deep in theory.
Simply because no one would dare demand such a sacrifice and participation in such an operation from his kin. The risk is too high, too many variables, and too much can go wrong.
If it happened at all, it very rarely. Too beyond the morals of this race and their principles.
The Drow, for sure, can.
But if they are captivated, they are brainwashed to whiteness so that some nasty thing doesn't happen.
Q: About elves and fertility.
A: Life and Stars.
Are you saying that beings so connected to Life simply can't have reproductive problems? You're right, but you don't see the catch.
It is only because elves are so alive that they can continue the lineage at all, having in their blood a power so far removed from all worldly things as the Stars. Seriously. For a mere human with no natural connection that simplifies the interaction and reduces the consequence, it is easier to pump Shadow than to pump Stars.
The elves have a very weak connection to this force. And they use Life more often (all kinds of druids and the like) or the elements, to which it is easy to find an approach, as well as to learn from other's mistakes. Even those star adepts have scooped up this power by the very edge.
The true power of the Stars is probably one of the most chthonic (not the strongest, but chthonic to the extreme) nastiness in my lore, and the elves themselves do not touch it and avoid it at all costs. And those who guess at the essence of the Stars try either to bribe or forever shut them up - depends on the personal power of the one who knows.
That's why there are problems with birth - it's hard to give birth to a new child so that the Stars don't take its soul in the womb. The body wears out the body very quickly and very severely, so the elves shake over pregnant women like Kashchei over the gold.
But half-breeds always have a connection to Life, but not to the Stars. They have no problems with reproduction. Purebred elves can only be born from a purebred couple. Even if purebred + half-blood, it will come out badly. Either the same half-blood, or the Stars will take their own, along with the mother and those who happen to be around.
Q: Elves and the question of emergencies.
A: Already answered in the comments, but I'll repeat it here, just to be clear.
Elves are few, so they take care of themselves and their own very well. The ability to sharply, quickly and decisively evacuate EVERYONE from the zone of the nearest realm breakthrough, awakening legend or myth, who knows what else, is honed to perfection by them.
A realm breakthrough in the human capital? Panic, shouting, the guards fighting, and anyone unlucky enough to be around gets hit. Thousands of victims at best.
Is it the same in an elven city? Instant arrival of elite warriors with artifacts (and ordinary elves are quite elite fighters), the purpose of which is to hold back, then non-combatants leave, and elites roll the enemy into the forest land. Or they leave themselves and don't mess with what they can't kill without catastrophic casualties (summoning mercenaries or hitting with powerful stationary artifacts is optional). A couple of dozen casualties at worst.
There are failures of elves and successes of humans, but since the ears are still alive, they have learned quite well.
This also includes the subject of elves and mercenaries.
They are great employers. Because they pay well, just fine, provide mercenaries with first-class service, almost never screw over trusted partners, and diligently reward every saved life of starblood. That is why it is profitable to work with them.
Just be prepared to kill and die for them and instead of them.
As banal as it may seem, people who kill and die for gold are quite good in the role of a kind of buffer between the dangers and the elves. In full-fledged military conflicts (which for elves, in general, are the last and latest argument), most of their army is made up of mercenaries and servants (even if they do not consider themselves as such) from other races. Humans and beastfolk for the most part.
Naturally, the most trusted are checked and often even covertly processed by mentalists and seductresses. So that he was ready to lay down his bones for his beloved (platonic!). And sometimes some of them even lie down with the humans for the sake of work. Professional eared Seductresses know how to shut up their disgust in front of inferiors, again, for the cause.
But.
But.
But.
In ninety-seven out of a hundred cases there is simply no need for their work. To get loyalty from their servants / mercenaries enough banal politeness, knowledge of psychology, the ability to arrange themselves, and a handful of gold coins. That's it.
The rest is more the exception. Elves have lived long and know very well that all those hypnosis sessions, manipulations, charms, and mental bookmarks can bite at the most inopportune times. So it's better to make do amicably, ensuring fidelity in other ways. Well, at most, a little nudge.
Those who are treated according to the full program live, most often, until a task or several tasks are accomplished. Then they are put to death out of harm's way, or, if they really helped a lot, their minds are cleaned to a shine and left to live out their lives in the company of a personal harem (of the same race, not of elves, of course).
Often, if an operation requires memory scrubbing or processing by slavemancers, they just put it in the contract, and, as you would not believe, many people even agree to this for the sake of money. Humans, so humans.
Exceptions, again, come in all directions and in all aspects. But this is the exception. That's why they work with elves.
Q: According to the classics, elves should be slim, even thin by human standards.
A: 95% correct. There are some anomalies that do have shapes (but the shapes are C at most). But mostly they are.
Q: Alas, but elves have big breasts only in anime...
A: Quite a true observation, though not so categorical.
Q: Alas, the large breasts only spoil the elves...
A: Size one or two is fine. The third is also possible. A fourth is too much for an elf, but there are lovers. In general, yes, 1-2, but a very high grace and an ideal appearance.
Q: If the race is the same as the summoner's, how do elves treat their Summoned?
A: Elves, by the way, don't consider them real elves. There's no special abuse there, though it's incidental, just life as a valued servant, etc. Servant, not equal.
Though given Yoke, the Summoned are happy to serve themselves. Especially when you consider the elves' non-conflict nature and their ability to part friends even in the face of initial hostile intentions.
Q: And what about my assumption about the heroic hundred at the Dawn Woods, where they carefully arrange all but the most substandard summoned, in order to demolish anything at all if necessary!
A: Not a hundred and not even half of that.
