Last order, three in the afternoon. Called both offices, went to one, handed over the money, and arranged for a week off. The head of the courier service tried to reproach me, but I promised that I was about to fall with a seizure and would be taken away in an ambulance, with registration, after which he quickly agreed that sometimes an honest worker needs a rest as well.

A young manager. He bends to his subordinates. His predecessor would have promised that I would be taken away to the trauma unit for such antics. He was a hard man. Pity, he liked to mix vodka and pills. Now he talks to the walls in the asylum.

As I climbed into the minibus, my bag hit a woman who was waiting for her friend to get in. She looked at me with displeasure and stuck her butt out so that I had to hover on the step, waiting for the obstacle to be removed. Finally sitting down, I handed her some change.

"Would you pass the money?"

"And the magic word?" She held out her hand.

"Avada Kadav khem khem..."

My throat was cramped with the knowledge of what might happen now because of a stupid joke, and I coughed. But no, there was no green flash... And why would there be because I'm a wizard from Tales, not Potteriana!

The woman, unaware of her good fortune, took the coins and handed them to the driver with a sour expression. The door slammed, the "Radio Chanson" blaring, and I was thrown onto my seat. My forehead was wet, and my aunt, squinting as I wiped myself with a handkerchief, suddenly asked sympathetically:

"Blood pressure? You don't look so good."

"Dhh... Yeah, sorry. There's been a bit of pressure in the morning."

The woman instantly changed, offered me a pill, and when I assured her that I had already taken it, she turned away from her friend and began to tell me how important it was to take care of my health. I didn't listen, nodding attentively and thinking about my thoughts. Finally, braking sharply, the driver shouted out another blatant howl and half the crowd jumped out.

Fingers? Almost no trembling. Screw it. I'll eat twice as much in the next week or two anyway. I should get something for my liver and blood pressure. You treat one, and the other suffers. It's always been like that. God, suddenly there are priests and other healers in the world?! Let it be, let it be! Why don't you just pretend like you mean it?

Silence. Fate is never answering. Bastard. Lots to do, understandably.

Leaning back, I had to go to the final station. I began to remember magical systems.

It seems that what the person played doesn't have much of an effect. Although, why did I assume that magic is only from games? Well, they turn off the Internet... so!

Quickly pulling out my tablet, I checked the libraries. No, there was access. Still there. Moshkov, Samizdat, the hotbeds of piracy – all still provided any book magic adventures. So – only games.

I walked to the train station as if saying goodbye. It was silly, I would be back tomorrow, but it felt like I was leaving forever.

Coming up behind two elderly provincials, clearly returning home, I winked at the conductor:

But there was no refusal in her voice. After half a minute we agreed, and I entered the train car.

I have the money, and the tickets at the ticket office, but why shine my passport? The conductor put me in her compartment and told me to wait. I sat at the window, looking at the tracks on the other side, the people on the platform, the lights of the station. It was as if the departure of the train had not touched me. Something was said in the corridor, a woman in uniform looked into my compartment, and the conductor winked at me from behind her back.

The bill, placed on a chocolate bar, was favorably accepted, I was told "No problems here!", and the door closed. A few more times the conductor glimpsed by her complicated and troublesome business but did not bother me. I even dozed off, wondering why I had not just cast "invisibility", the time of action would have been just enough for eleven hours of travel. When the conductor came back, she informed me there were free seats in a couple of compartments, and I could take one later.

It's a good thing it wasn't hinted at. I handed over another note, joked about the railway hassle, and listened to a couple of stories about passengers. Then she popped out again, and at one point, I caught myself dozing, leaning against the wall. I have gently pushed aside and escorted to the compartment, where, after a quick hello to my only neighbor, I climbed onto the top shelf and fell asleep instantly.

When I woke up, I was quite surprised that I had slept for almost seven hours. I was exhausted by all this magic stuff. Turning on the light bulb, I pulled out my tablet and, after plugging in the HDD, began to browse through the various game classes related to magic.
