"Nothing happened to me during those incomplete seven days. N-O-T-H-I-N-G. All I did was eat, sleep, eat, sleep... "

"Might this be some sort of a psychological drama, a tragedy of an excess person?"

"And even if there was something else under the tree, I was never disappointed – a child's imagination could always find a use for any item – a plush rabbit became the Dark Overlord ruling over an army of toy soldiers, a trasformer-robot – a superhero saving the world..."

"I also remember the New Year holidays - those two weeks that you could spend playing, watching cartoons and eating candies."

"In the end, the celebration was not just one night between the 31th and the 1st, but the whole month."

"But with time, the joy from waiting for the New Year to come went away."

"Maybe I've just changed, aged and here I am celebrating it not at home with parents but with a loud company of friends, familiar and not."

"Mom's pie was changed to champagne and whatnot, toy soldiers to new electronics and usual shirts and ties, Father Frost to uncle Barney, then uncle Bob and then uncle Dan."
