→While out scouting we discovered several strange glowing stones of varying colours, hidden amongst a pile of rocks. I've never seen anything like them before.

→More than a year on and the mood in the camp has improved. Still no sign of any trolls however. The warmer weather and longer days allow us to travel further into the mountains.

→More supplies have been arriving over the past months, and Nico has grand plans to build much larger camps that cover a greater area of this challenging landscape. This should provide us with huts and storage facilities for traps and weapons, and above all, a place to keep warm.

→It's been nine months since we arrived, and the men have set up several small camps throughout the mountainside. They provide some protection from the elements, and the rocky terrain helps shield us from the bitter winds.

→The nights are getting cold. The end of summer and the start of winter stir new fears amongst the men. Just how long are we going to be here? Daylight hours are shrinking by the day.\x20

→Aside from a couple of animals, and of course men, we have not trapped a troll. It's been five months since we arrived and the men are becoming agitated.\x20

→We lost a couple of foolish men to the traps today. The traps were triggered after we had built them. They were amply disguised, and the men forgot they were there. Fools! We rebuilt some of them so they could only be activated by large, heavy creatures, out of reach of human contact. This seemed to work much better.

→It's cold at night. We get approximately six hours of daylight to search, track, and lay traps.

→After the first few days, we hiked into the mountains and began building makeshift camps and lookout posts. It is early days, but we have found no evidence that there are trolls in the area. Although at night, if you listen carefully, unsettling, extraordinary sounds can be heard coming from deep inside the mountains.

→After a long journey we arrived at basecamp with very little possessions. Supplies will follow over the coming months, but Nico is confident we'll find what we're looking for very quickly.
