- Dr. Cassandra Railly is a brilliant virologist whose world is turned upside down when she's kidnapped by a man from the future.
- This is the present.
- No, this is the past. 2043 is the present.
- Why did they send you back in time, Cole?
- Cole claims that in he future she'll send him a message asking for his help to stop a plague that'll kill billions. Cassie is understandably skeptical. But after Cole vanishes right before her eyes, Cassie's life falls apart. And she questions her own sanity. But when Cole returns she's joining to his mission to help prevent the viral outbreak.
- Look, Cassie, this is my mission.
- No, not anymore-- it's ours.
- Cole's constant visits from the future and her growing sense of panic about a global apocalypse drives a wedge of mistrust between Cassie and her boyfriend, Aaron.
- He kidnapped you. He filled your head with that plague stuff. Now he tries to kill someone. Cassie, just talk to me.
- Her bond with Cole grows stronger with every adventure. Threatening Cole's friendship with Ramse.
- Whole world's gonna die. You, me, Cassie.
- Just when you think this love triangle couldn't be trickier, the Army of the 12 Monkeys also has plans to win Cassie over.
- You're walking through a red forest.
- Just how far is Cassie willing to go to save the future she might never live to see?
