- Times, they are changing.
- Cole.
- There are such a enormous relief when she sees him.
- Cassie.
- That was something even from actor's perspective-- just having my baddy Aaron there, it's a relief and it's comforting. But then something's not quote right.
- This again?
- Wait a minute. He's with me.
- With you?
- Cole and Cassie don't really know each other anymore. She's a lot like he was at the top of season one, and he is turned to corner and found more of a moral compass.
- We can't leave him here alive.
- I won't let you do that.
- You're letting your emotions get in a way.
- He doesn't know where he stands with her, he doesn't really sure he knows who she is anymore.
- Look, I know you're being this way is my fault. But this is not who you are.
- What I am is because of me. Nobody else.
- He feels responsible for her having turned into this hardened callous person. And he keeps apologizing which is irritating. You know, if somebody keeps apologizing for you being the way that you now are, it's like they have power over your life. She doesn't want him to have that power. She is who she is because of her and not because of anybody else.
- It's gonna take a bit for them to figure out each other again and hopefully, they do.
- This guy helps the Messengers, he was instrumental in the virus. So for those two reasons alone he should be put down. And adding all other personal baggage that he's got with him.
- They are man and woman fighting inside. He grabs her hair, starts beatting(?) her up. Two little boys ran out, you know, chasing after her. And the one always was crying. He kept on crying. That was you.
- He got him in the only place that Deacon is weak. That is his Achilles heel. That is his soft spot. There's his underbelly. And he ran up for it.
- You know, I think your daddy-- he's really gone all the way. He would've killed your mom right there if the cops didn't come. You should thank me.
- What he start to see is a kernel of Deacon's humanity. And this guy wasn't just a psychopath, he might be made this way and has his own daemons.
- You know what, Teddy, all the talking got me a little thirsty.
- Move!
- When the writers chose to break Deacon into season two, there's a mandate then to show more sides of who this person is.
- I have nothing left.
- Of cause you do. Just go, get out of this. Go and find you purpose. You do have one. One that's right.
- Everybody else sees her as a thing to either use or something to dismiss. But Cole actually if you really chart how he treats Jennifer throughout the entire season and the last season-- he sees her and I think that's what we all really want-- to us to be seen.
- My favorite scene in his episode is when you realize it's Jennifer who finally gets Cole home. [ I FOUND MY PURPOSE ] It's a great emotional payoff to that relationship that Cole has been so good to her. And that she recognizes it and thirty year later she'll repay that debt to him.
