Мне кажется, имеется в виду, что он улыбается, когда она отчитывает его, и этим еще больше её распаляет/доводит/бесит. Но я не уверен.

Cop caper
Помогите, пожалуйста, подобрать аналог выражению «cop caper». Использовано оно было по отношению к фильму «Крепкий орешек» с Брюсом Уиллисом. Oxford Dictionary говорит, что 'caper' – это «A light-hearted, far-fetched film, especially about crime», но пока аналог в пару слов придумать не могу.

Не могу найти нигде «a grainer and marbler».
grainer – маляр высокой квалификации (занимающийся покраской под дерево или мрамор).
marbler полагаю «мраморщик».
Но не совсем уверена, что здесь эти варианты подходят.
